If you are  looking for original Florida restaurants, then look no further and Florida Restaurant Originals. All offer something unusual, high quality and consistently delicious.

There's no chains or Franchises here, just a unique setting in Florida that you will return to. We carefully pick the Florida restaurants so you can be assured that you will find the very best quality. We have traveled Florida since 1988 seeking out the unusual as part of our insider's guide. We stay in historic hotels and bed and breakfasts and always ask the inkeeper for their suggestion for unusual and one-of-a-kind Florida restaurants in the area. We try to sample the service and the food to make sure it meets our high standards. If we do not have a chance to try the Florida restaurants then we rely on at least 2 good referrals.

We have Florida restaurants that have been listed with us for many many years like for example Backfin Blue one of many  known for its outstanding crab cakes. This is just a casual haunt on Beach Boulevard in Gulfport but boy oh boy do they know how to cook. There is a deck out back. If you go there be sure and say HI to the owner Harold. This place like Pia's, just down the street in the same town on Gulf Boulevard serves Italian cuisine. In fact, Pia is from Italy and learned about cooking real Italian from her grandmother when she was just a child. Then you can travel to a place in the charming town of Mount Dora that is called the Goblin Market in an old warehouse that now is one of the most elegant Florida restaurants in the state with two floors and a long wooden bar upstairs for enjoying your favorite cocktail before dinner.

There'a a multitude of unique Florida restaurants to enjoy around the state. You must simply use this guide to find them and then go and enjoy. Get out there with friends and family and have a great time in an unusual setting with great food to taste. Many of the dining establishments we suggest are on the water like for example Mamas greek cuisine in Tarpon Springs. If you go there be sure and ask for the flaming cheese.
